One of the most awaited events of the University’s foundation festivities, the Falcon Fete, was held online this year as mass gatherings are still banned due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The event was held on Zoom and live-streamed on the Adamson University Student Government’s Facebook page on Friday (March 26) at 4 p.m. Despite being online, Adamsonians got to enjoy the different competitions, raffles, and games during the event while in the comfort of their homes.

The virtual Falcon Fete with the theme “Beyond the Cosmic Cloud” was kicked off with an exhilarating dance and song performance by student organization Gravity Skills, Expertise, and Talents (Gravity S.E.T.) Next, winners of the jingle, spoken poetry, dancing, and singing competition participated by students from various college departments were presented along with their original and cover performances.

The second half of the event featured the music festival in which the most awaited competition, the Battle of the Bands, took place. Part of the line-up was the three competing bands (in order of appearance) Banda ni Aidan, Undecided, Ionic Band, and Trionova. They graced the virtual stage with their recorded renditions of hit songs such as “Come Inside of My Heart” by IV of Spades and “Tatsulok” by Bamboo. The night was filled with music once again as homegrown Adamsonian talents serenaded their fellow klasmeyts with their performances. First to make an appearance is the musical group IVY with their groovy and Lo-fi sound. TYMNS and We Prefer Chinitas followed, receiving quite a few admiring yet amusing remarks on the comment section.

“Galing nung nagddrum. TAMBULIN MO BUHAY KO KOIA,” one fellow Falcon quipped in the comments section as We Prefer Chinitas perform their original song, “Layag.”

“Edi sana nagtatalunan na tayo ngayon,” one klasmeyt likewise quipped.

The night’s last performance was a set by alumni band Room 14, ending with their new single “Indie Girl.”

The event was brought to a close as Falcon hosts Kia and Gian award the winner of the Battle of the Bands competition with the Ionic Band (composed of Bren Carolino, Ronzie Dizon, Dexther Dulatre, Chyme Maico, Mick De Leon) hailing as champions.

The live-streamed event is still up and available on the Adamson University Student Council Facebook page.
